Medusa Speaks Series

A travelling conversation about changing the sexual violence space.

The Medusa Speaks Series is a spin-off from our launch event. Each stop is an intimate room — a curated guest, a survivor host, and a conversation about how the sector can actually change. Cities, dates, and lineup are still being shaped.

Nothing here is final — details will be confirmed as the series takes shape.

Cities on our radar

Where we're hoping to land.

A starting list — order, dates, and additional stops are open. If you're a venue, partner, or sponsor in any of these cities (or somewhere we should be), we'd love to hear from you.

  • London

  • Montreal

  • Halifax

  • Vancouver

  • Ottawa

  • Toronto

The conversation

Changing the sexual violence space — together.

Each room takes a different angle: institutional reform, frontline response, lived experience, research, technology, prevention, culture. The thread that ties them is the same — what does it actually take to change this space, and who has been kept out of the conversation so far.

Speaker applications

Tell us about you.

We're building a roster of speakers — senior survivor-leaders, junior-level survivors, researchers, practitioners, and frontline workers. Share your bio, the topics you'd speak to, and where you'd like to be in the room.

Note: where it's possible, this is a paid speaking opportunity. Honoraria and travel support are confirmed on a per-event basis as funding allows.

Pick the closest match — you can specify more in "Other" or in your bio.

A few sentences — who you are, what you do, and the experience or expertise you bring.

What angles, questions, or themes light you up? Be as specific as you'd like.

Lived experience, research, frontline practice, policy, technology — any combination.

Website, prior talks, writing, LinkedIn — anything you want us to see.

Anything we should know to make the room work for you.

Sponsors & partners

Put your name behind the rooms that move this work.

The Medusa Speaks Series only exists because partners and sponsors help us build the rooms. Sponsorship goes toward speaker honoraria and travel where possible, venue and AV costs, accessibility and trauma-informed support, and free or sliding-scale seats for survivors, students, and frontline workers who otherwise wouldn't be in the room.

City sponsor

Anchor a single stop

Underwrite one city — venue, hosting, accessibility, and community seats. Your name carried across that event's programme and post-event coverage.

Series sponsor

Travel with the whole series

Support every stop. Co-branding across the full series, lead billing in promotion, and a deeper editorial role in shaping the conversations alongside us.

In-kind & community

Venues, hospitality, services

Venues, hospitality, AV, design, photography, accommodations — in-kind partners are credited the same as cash sponsors. Especially open to local partners in each city.

We're survivor-led. Sponsorship doesn't buy editorial control over the lineup, the topics, or the framing. It does mean a partnership built on shared values, transparent conversations, and clear credit.
